Recently, in an attempt to get me off of the floor (I was taking up the whole living room floor-- yeah, it was a problem) and back into the corner where I belong, we installed marvelous shelves to display my beads!
They're practical and decorative! I love that I can see everything. It's easier to pick and choose what I want to pull down for a project. I also love the apothecary look of it. Yes, someone asked if there was eye of newt on the wall. I loved it!
The table is another matter entirely. It's not that I don't try. I'm just not very successful. Isn't there some adage about a disorganized home being a product of a disorganized mind? If there isn't there should be.
I hope it will come together eventually. Maybe then I can move to the table with my laptop, which is, as I type this, not on my lap at all. It's on the living room floor.
At least you can find your beads. I am still not sure where all of mine are since the move.
ReplyDeleteSarah, your table looks oddly, comfortably familiar :)
ReplyDeleteYay! I can find my beads and I'm in good company:)
ReplyDeleteMarilyn, they'll turn up, hopefully just when you need them.
Sarah, I am very, very impressed with your new storage solution. And as far as the table, just think of a disorganized mind being a sign of a creative mind (at least that's what I tell myself...:-) )
ReplyDeleteWow Sarah - I saw your first photo and thought how neat you are ... and then I saw your second photo and felt SO much better :D
ReplyDeleteTable? Who works on a table?!? To me, that's organized. My table is merely a horizontal surface to hold things that haven't found their permanent homes.
ReplyDeleteIt never would have occurred to me to put my beads in jars like that, but it's really a pretty display. It must be nice to be able to see them all so easily.
:-)
See-- isn't it lovely? When that storage solution thing ran on BeadingDaily I was pained at heart.
ReplyDeleteNow I know that it's not just me!
The jars of beads look like art all by themselves. That's a great solution. You should collect odd shaped jars just for the beads.
ReplyDeleteI do have few odd ones, but they're out numbered by the practical ones . . . for now that is:)
ReplyDeleteThe shelves are a great idea. I have mine in plastic bins sorted by color and I always have to dig through the pile to find the colors I want. You can actually see your colors.
ReplyDeleteI *love* them and would so recommend the idea to any and every beader who isn't thrilled with their current storage.
